PC is going to offer the most definitive experience for Max Payne 3, or at least that’s what Rockstar is saying in this interview with PC World. Lead PC designer Kevin Hoare noted that the studio has taken into consideration high-end computers, pointing out that gamers with such hardware will have plenty to “sink their teeth into.”
“It’s when you get towards the top end of [the] range that you can really push a game to its limits,” he said. “The game will look and run incredibly on the most advanced current machines around at the moment and well into the near future.”
He added that the game supports “triple and even sextuple monitor support”, various anti-aliasing options, and other high-end graphical bells and whistles. Rockstar is also supporting DirectX 11.
Hoare also touched on the disk space issue: the game comes in at a sizeable 35GB. This is due to the increased size of textures, which are noted to be “four times the size of those on consoles.” The audio quality is also said to be significantly higher.
The game is due out June 1 on PC. It is already available on PS3 and Xbox 360. Hit the jump for revised system specifications.
